The PwC/Property Council Retirement Census is the most comprehensive aggregated data source about retirement villages in Australia.
The Retirement Census profiles the physical characteristics of villages, ownership details, business attributes (e.g. tenure, financial structure, operating overheads), sales, resident profiles (e.g. demographics, length of stay), and future development.
20 July 2020 – data collection commences
31 August 2020 – data collection closes
Late November 2020 – snapshot report released
January 2021 – reports sent to participating village operators
Any Australian retirement village operator can participate in the Retirement Census. There is no cost to participate.
The data collection for 2020 is currently open and will end on Monday 31 August 2020.
Village operators who are members of the Property Council, or who participated in the 2019 Retirement Census, were sent an email on 20 July with instructions on how to participate.
If you are a Property Council of Australia member - this email was sent to your "Property Council member rep".
Village operators who are not Property Council members are welcome to participate in the Retirement Census – please email LPirts@propertycouncil.com.au to register your interest.
